Arya kills the Night King with Heartsbane

Potential Spoilers Below

I keep telling everyone that similarities between The Wheel of Time (TWOT) and A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) are vast even if there are those out there that say otherwise.

Heartsbane is another name for the Dark One in the Wheel of Time.  It would be ironic indeed IMO to kill the Night King with the sword that bears his name, as I believe he is ASOIAF’s counterpart to the Dark One in the Wheel of Time.

His true name is Shai'tan, (pronounced: SHAY-ih-TAN), although many people believe that speaking that name will bring misfortune to the speaker, which is why he is referred to as the Dark One. However, there are many other alternative names for him, such as:

Father of Lies
Sightblinder (used by the Aiel)
Lord of the Grave
Lord of the Twilight
Shepherd of the Night
Heartsbane
Soulsbane
Heartfang (used by the wolves)
Old Grim
Grassburner
Leafblighter (used by the Aiel)
Father of Storms (used by the Atha'an Miere)
Caisen Hob ("Old Hob", used by the Seanchan)
Lighteater (used by the Seanchan)

In addition, with the exception of Moridin, his own followers consider it blasphemy to speak his true name, so they most commonly refer to him by more flattering titles, such as:

Great Lord of the Dark (or simply 'the Great Lord')
Lord of the Grave
Lord of the Evening - a name used in the Prophecies of the Shadow

The name Ba'alzamon (meaning "Heart of the Dark" in the Trolloc language) was used by Ishamael before his death; humans, including Darkfriends, learned it and assumed that it was the Trolloc name for the Dark One, which led to the assumption for the duration of the first three books and for much of the world's history that Ishamael was actually the Dark One himself - a falsehood which he did nothing to repudiate, and in fact encouraged the misconception, choosing his words carefully, so as not to actually claim to be the Dark One.

Again, I know Arya is going to kill him based upon this Season 1 clue.  Based upon the clues that we have been given in Season 8 episodes 1 and 2 it appears she will use Heartsbane to do it.

"I don’t think of him as evil, I think of him as Death,” Benioff told EW. “And that’s what he wants — for all of us. It’s why he was created and that’s what he’s after.”

So now for the reasons why she will use Heartsbane to do it.  It all goes back to the first season.  They left enough breadcrumbs that a blind man could follow.  First the season 8 scenes that led me to this conclusion:

Sam indicates that Heartsbane is too heavy for him.

Ser Jorah may fall during a battle and Heartsbane may find its way into Arya’s hands.  She told Jon Snow that Longclaw was “Too heavy for me.” Do you guys remember what she was taught by Syrio Forel?

When she wields Heartsbane it will be as heavy as it needs to be!

Comments encouraged.  Love to hear the idea’s of others.  Most believe that since I present my idea’s as “fact like” I’m not open to change my viewpoints which is far from the truth.  I simply look at the information presented and go from there.  If you can shine a light on another way of thinking that opens the door to debate.
