What fate may have in store for Margaery Tyrell

Potential Spoilers Below

The Wheel of Time:

There is story of Lady Alteima who is married to High Lord Tedosian.  She is manipulating both her lover High LordCarelon as well as her husband.  Tedosian kills Carelon in a hunting accident.  The wife then upon her husband’s return proceeds to put poison into his wine keeping him in his sickbed trying to kill him.  She ends up being sent away with the Army of Tear to Cairhien.  While away he recovers.

Another story tells of Alliandre who is the current Queen of Ghealdan.  She is the fourth to sit upon the throne in barely half a year.  The first was Johanin; he died in a suspicious “hunting accident” after taking Masema harmless.  The following comment is made about this being an accident:  “Not unless he didn’t know one bloody end of a flaming boar spear from the other.  Flaming soutlanders and their flaming Game of Houses!”  The second to sit the throne was Queen Ellizelle.  She sends her army after Masema but dies of poison shortly thereafter.  The third to sit throne was Queen Teresia.  Ten days after her coronation she sent two thousand soldiers against ten thousand people gathered to hear Masema.  Her soldiers were routed and she abdicated to marry a rich merchant.  A comment about her marrying a commoner meant giving up any claim to the throne forever.

The Game of Thrones:

I am saying if you take the first story about Lady Alteima manipulating her husband Tedosian and her lover Carelon.  Throw in the hunting accident and then the poison wine.  Combine that with the Kingdom of Ghealdan and the four rulers it had in a little over six months.  The first dying in a so called “boar hunting accident.” The second gets poisoned. And the third abdicates and is forced to marry a commoner essentially giving up her claim to the throne forever

When you look at all of this it’s not hard to see you shake it up and you now have Cersei manipulating Lancel.  She has him accompany Robert on boar hunt and has him give him a stronger wine than he was accustomed to leading to his death.  Joffrey takes the throne and then he is poisoned to death at his wedding.  Now you have Tommen who is the current king.

But the focus of this post is about Margaery Tyrell and what I see coming for her.

Margaery Tyrell

The Wheel of Time:

Take the following excerpt from the Lord of Chaos:

Desaine had spoken against her being chosen as a Wise One, speaking loudly about her having served no apprenticeship and paid no visit to Rhuidean, claiming that her place standing for the clan chief disqualified her. Besides, as the widow of not just one, but two dead chiefs, perhaps she carried bad luck. Fortunately, enough of the Shaido Wise Ones had listened to Sevanna, not Desaine.

Sevanna

Nodding, Sevanna fingered the small stone cube, with its intricate carvings, in her pouch. The strange wetlander who had given it to her had said she should use it now, when al’Thor was captive. Until she had actually looked on him, she had intended to; now she decided to throw the cube away. She was the widow of a chief who had been to Rhuidean and of a man who had been called chief without making that visit. Now she was going to be the wife of the Car’a’carn himself. Every spear of the Aiel would be grounded to her. Her finger still retained the feel of al’Thor’s neck, where she had traced the line of the collar she would put on him.

The Game of Thrones:

So this takes us back to Margaery.  It shouldn't be too hard to see Sevanna as Margaery.  Sevanna married strictly to gain power but the two men she married died and Desaine see’s her as bad luck.  Does Margaery have bad luck?  Since Sevanna conspired to be the wife of Rand will there come a time when Margaery will entertain the same thoughts about Jon?

Hindsight being 20/20 I bet both Renly and Joffrey would agree that she was.  Because of prophecy given to Cersei by Maggy the Frog Tommen seems to be doomed also.  But if you combine the characteristics of Queen Teresia and Sevanna I see Tommen being killed and Margaery being forced maybe to marry beneath her station killing any hopes that she has of ever becoming queen.

These are the connections that I made when I read TWOT in relation to ASOIAF.  I did another blog on Robert and Joffrey dying but I didn’t tie in the Margaery angle.  What do you think?

Comments encouraged.  Love to hear the idea’s of others.  Most believe that since I present my idea’s as “fact like” I’m not open to change my viewpoints which is far from the truth.  I simply look at the information presented and go from there.  If you can shine a light on another way of thinking that opens the door to debate.
