Lomas Longstrider is TWOT equivalent of Jain Farstrider - But what character could he represent in ASOIAF?

Potential Spoilers Below

TWOT: Who is Jain Farstrider?

Jain, Mat and Thom
Jain Charin aka Noal aka Jain Farstrider – author of several books among those are “The Travels of Jain Farstrider” and “Voyages Among the Sea Folk”

The books are enjoyed by mostly everyone because of its adventures.

He disappeared in 981 NE after a trip into the Great Blight.

The Great Blight location

Noal saved Mat’s life during the gholam attack and then was invited to join the Band of the Red Hand.  We learned later that Noal was supposedly misused by Ishamael who said he turned him to the shadow making him a darkfriend.  It is theorized that he was sent to spy on Mat.

Ishamael
“The old man tapped a gnarled finger against the side of his beak of a nose. Both looked to have been broken several times. “Not a man to bother unless you must, and then I’d think three times.”

“Who is this man with two names?” Tuon asked. “Only great men are spoken of so, and you speak as if everyone should know him.”

“He was a fool,” Noal said grimly before Mat could open his mouth, though Olver did get his open, and left it gaping while the old man continued. “He went gallivanting about the world and left a good and loving wife to die of a fever without him there to hold her hand while she died. He let himself be made into a tool by—” Abruptly Noal’s face went blank. Staring through Mat, he rubbed at his forehead as though attempting to recall something.

“Jain Farstrider was a great man,” Olver said fiercely. His hands curled into small fists, as though he was ready to fight for his hero. “He fought Trollocs and Myrddraal, and he had more adventures than anyone else in the whole world! Even Mat! He captured Cowin Gemallan after Gemallan betrayed Malkier to the Shadow!”

Cowin Gemallan
Noal came to himself with a start and patted Olver’s shoulder. “He did that, boy. That much is to his credit. But what adventure is worth leaving your wife to die alone?” He sounded sad enough to die on the spot himself.”

“A figure joined him at the fire. Lanky and bony, Noal looked like a scarecrow who had dusted himself off and decided to go to town. Despite his white hair and leathery face, Noal was as spry as men half his age. When he was handling a weapon, anyway. Other times he seemed as clumsy as a mule in a dining parlor.

"You're quite the notable man," Noal said to Mat, holding out his palms to the fire. "When you stumbled across me in Ebou Dar, I had no idea what illustrious company I'd find myself in. Give this a few more months and you'll be more famous than Jain Farstrider."

Mat hunkered down farther into his chair.

"Men always think it would be a grand to be known in every tavern and every city," Noal said softly. "But burn me if it isn't just a headache."

"What do you know of it?"

"Jain complained about it," Noal said softly.”

“Mat," Noal called, glancing over his shoulder.

Mat waved Thom on, but hesitated, looking back.

"If you ever meet a Malkieri," Noal said, "you tell him Jain Farstrider died clean."

"I will, Jain," Mat said. "May the light hold you.”

In the end Noal sacrificed his own life to save Mat, Thom and Moiraine.  He died a hero.

ASOIAF: Who is Lomas Longstrider?

Lomas Longstrider travelled the world and wrote two famous books, “Wonders” and “Wonders Made by Man.”  Wonders recorded the seven natural wonders of the known world.  Wonders Made by Man recorded the nine man-made wonders of the known world.

“Come moonrise, they were back in their saddles, trotting eastward under a mantle of stars. The old Valyrian road glimmered ahead of them like a long silver ribbon winding through wood and dale. For a little while Tyrion Lannister felt almost at peace. “Lomas Longstrider told it true. The road’s a wonder.”

Tyrion Lannister
“Lomas Longstrider?” asked Duck.

“A scribe, long dead,” said Haldon. “He spent his life traveling the world and writing about the lands he visited in two books he called Wonders and Wonders Made by Man.”

“An uncle of mine gave them to me when I was just a boy,” said Tyrion. “I read them until they fell to pieces.”

There is only one person to me that fits Noal’s description who could have been Lomas Longstrider IMO.  That person is Bronn.

Bronn
Bronn saved Tyrion's life by becoming his champion to defeating Ser Vardis Egen in a trial by battle in the Eyrie.  Later they both meet up with the Vale Mountain Clans among them Timett, who was a given the title red hand, after he put out his own eye out during his rite of manhood into the clan.  This to me symbolizes Tyrion's Band of the Red Hand.

Timett

Bronn has been beyond the Wall. When asked why he was there, he bluntly answers that he was "working".

He was “working” was only mentioned on the TV show.  The show has introduced clues not mentioned in the books. Could he also have been misused by the bad guys who I believe are the Children of the Forest?

The show has also told us that Bronn's nose has been broken 3 times:

“Will he, my lord?” Catelyn said coolly. “I wonder.” She had seen Bronn fight on the high road; it was no accident that he had survived the journey while other men had died. He moved like a panther, and that ugly sword of his seemed a part of his arm.”

Catelyn
Fight on the High Road
“Bronn rose, cat-quick and cat-graceful, turning his sword in his hand. “You’ll have me beside you in the battle, dwarf.”

“Bronn laughed. “Reading books again? Books will ruin your sword eye, boy. I see a skull too. A black banner.”  - This quote was spoken to Podrick Payne, Tyrion’s squire, by Bronn.  It reminded me of Noal speaking to Olver who was like a squire of sorts to Mat.  Where Olver was very talkative and into everything Podrick was just the opposite.

Summary:

I don't know if Bronn is Lomas Longstrider or not. I only know that there are two famous book writers with very similar names in both series. Both wrote books that were very popular with the general populace.  Both did not seem to look at to be such formidable warriors but were extremely deadly when it came to battle.  Both joined up with the who I consider to be the same characters in both books Mat/Tyrion to become part of the Band of the Red Hand by saving that persons life. Both have been beyond where most travelers venture, Noal the Great Blight and Bronn beyond the Wall.  Did the COTF send Bronn out scouting the Others and could he have been the one who woke them from what seems to have been an 8,000 year slumber?  Did he have to fight his way back fighting both Others and wights similar to Jain fighting Myrddraal and Trollocs?  I know that some will say that Bronn's age doesn't fit that of Lomas Longstrider.  To those I can only say remember the glamor that Melisandre placed on Mance Rayder. A glamor is represented by the Mask of Mirrors in TWOT.  Also remember that Melisandre in the books seems to be much older than what her physical appearance would indicate.

The reasons why I believe Sansa will be queen

Potential Spoilers Below

ASOIAF: Sansa's punishment

“I’d shoot you too, but if I do Mother says they’d kill my uncle Jaime. Instead you’ll just be punished and we’ll send word to your brother about what will happen to you if he doesn’t yield. Dog, hit her.”

Jaime Lannister
“Let me beat her!” Ser Dontos shoved forward, tin armor clattering. He was armed with a “morningstar” whose head was a melon. My Florian. She could have kissed him, blotchy skin and broken veins and all. He trotted his broomstick around her, shouting “Traitor, traitor” and whacking her over the head with the melon. Sansa covered herself with her hands, staggering every time the fruit pounded her, her hair sticky by the second blow. People were laughing. The melon flew to pieces. Laugh, Joffrey, she prayed as the juice ran down her face and the front of her blue silk gown. Laugh and be satisfied.

Ser Dontos
Joffrey
Joffrey did not so much as snigger. “Boros. Meryn.”

Meryn Trant
Ser Meryn Trant seized Dontos by the arm and flung him brusquely away. The red-faced fool went sprawling, broomstick, melon, and all. Ser Boros seized Sansa.

“Leave her face,” Joffrey commanded. “I like her pretty.”

Boros slammed a fist into Sansa’s belly, driving the air out of her. When she doubled over, the knight grabbed her hair and drew his sword, and for one hideous instant she was certain he meant to open her throat. As he laid the flat of the blade across her thighs, she thought her legs might break from the force of the blow. Sansa screamed. Tears welled in her eyes. It will be over soon. She soon lost count of the blows.

“Enough,” she heard the Hound rasp.

“No it isn’t,” the king replied.
“Boros, make her naked.”

Boros shoved a meaty hand down the front of Sansa’s bodice and gave a hard yank. The silk came tearing away, baring her to the waist. Sansa covered her breasts with her hands. She could hear sniggers, far off and cruel. “Beat her bloody,” Joffrey said, “we’ll see how her brother fancies—”

“What is the meaning of this?”

The Imp’s voice cracked like a whip, and suddenly Sansa was free. She stumbled to her knees, arms crossed over her chest, her breath ragged. “Is this your notion of chivalry, Ser Boros?” Tyrion Lannister demanded angrily. His pet sellsword stood with him, and one of his wildlings, the one with the burned eye. “What sort of knight beats helpless maids?”

Tyrion chastising Joffrey
“The sort who serves his king, Imp.” Ser Boros raised his sword, and Ser Meryn stepped up beside him, his blade scraping clear of its scabbard.

“Careful with those,” warned the dwarf’s sellsword. “You don’t want to get blood all over those pretty white cloaks.”

“Someone give the girl something to cover herself with,” the Imp said.
Sandor Clegane unfastened his cloak and tossed it at her. Sansa clutched it against her chest, fists bunched hard in the white wool. The coarse weave was scratchy against her skin, but no velvet had ever felt so fine.

“This girl’s to be your queen,” the Imp told Joffrey. “Have you no regard for her honor?”

“I’m punishing her.”

“For what crime? She did not fight her brother’s battle.”

“She has the blood of a wolf.”

“And you have the wits of a goose.”

“You can’t talk to me that way. The king can do as he likes.”

“Aerys Targaryen did as he liked. Has your mother ever told you what happened to him?”

Ser Boros Blount harrumphed. “No man threatens His Grace in the presence of the Kingsguard.”

Tyrion Lannister raised an eyebrow. “I am not threatening the king, ser, I am educating my nephew. Bronn, Timett, the next time Ser Boros opens his mouth, kill him.” The dwarf smiled. “Now that was a threat, ser. See the difference?”

Bronn
Timett
“Ser Boros turned a dark shade of red. “The queen will hear of this!”

“No doubt she will. And why wait? Joffrey, shall we send for your mother?”

The king flushed.

“Nothing to say, Your Grace?” his uncle went on. “Good. Learn to use your ears more and your mouth less, or your reign will be shorter than I am. Wanton brutality is no way to win your people’s love . . . or your queen’s.”

“Fear is better than love, Mother says.” Joffrey pointed at Sansa. “She fears me.”

The Imp sighed. “Yes, I see. A pity Stannis and Renly aren’t twelve-year-old girls as well. Bronn, Timett, bring her.”

TWOT: Egwene's punishment

“Silent tears of humiliation began to stream down her cheeks. She wanted to kill Silviana, yet that would only mean a new Mistress of Novices laying the strap across her every morning until Elaida relented.”

Silviana, the Mistress of Novices
Elaida
“She wrote furiously, unaware that her free hand had risen to her and gently eased herself onto the goose-down cushion on the chair at the writing table. Not gently enough to stop a wince as her weight settled, though. She barely stifled a whimper. At first, she had thought the humiliation of Silviana’s strap far worse than the pain, but the pain no longer really faded.
Her bottom was a mass of bruises. And tomorrow, the Mistress of Novices would add to them. And the day after that, and the day after…. A bleak vision of endless days howling under Silviana’s strap, of fighting to meet the eyes of sisters who knew all about the visits to Silviana’s study.”

“That first morning before dawn, in Silviana’s study, she did her best while the Mistress of Novices plied a hard-soled slipper on her bared bottom. She made no effort to stifle her sobs when they came, or later her wordless howls. When her legs wanted to kick, she allowed them to flail until the Mistress of Novices trapped them under one of hers, awkwardly because of Silviana’s skirts, and then she let her toes drum the floor while her head tossed wildly. She tried to draw the pain inside her, to drink it in like breath. Pain was as much a part of life as breathing. That was how the Aiel saw life. But, oh, Light, it hurt!”

Aiel warriors
What they have in common:

While a prisoner in the White Tower Elaida had Egwene beaten, on a daily basis, by the Mistress of Novices, to break her will.

While a prisoner in the Red Keep Joffrey constantly terrorizes Sansa and has her stripped and beaten by his Kingsguard.

The Red Keep
Elaida, the Amyrlin Seat, was an Aes Sedai who had a foretelling that directed her actions.  Her foretellings were not about her but she misinterpreted them as such.  Because of this she sent Aes Sedai to capture the Dragon Reborn.  Aes Sedai refer to the Amyrlin Seat as Mother.  When a rescue was attempted Rand was able to shatter the shield of the three Aes Sedai holding him.  The shield was shattered with such force that it stilled the Aes Sedai.  Stilling to an Aes Sedai was a death sentence as the Aes Sedai in question eventually lost the will to live.

The Dragon Reborn
This to me equates to the prophecy given to Cersei by Maggy the Frog.  She was told when asked “Will the king and I have children?”  The answer was returned “Oh, aye.  Six-and-ten for him, and three for you.”  Maggy was not done and proceeded to tell her that “Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds.”  The stilling of the three Aes Sedai is the equivalent of death of Cersei’s three children.

When the Seanchan attacked the White Tower Egwene with the help of novices creates a gateway to the Tower store room where ter’angreal, angreal and sa’angreal were kept.  She retrieved Vora’s sa’angreal, also known as the white rod, to assist in fighting off the attackers.  In the end she uses it and created a counter weave to balefire called the Flame of Tar Valon.

I believe that Cersei will probably order Ser Robert Strong, aka the Mountain, to kill Jaime.  She will then send him out to ignite the wildfire that has been strategically placed around the Red Keep and King's Landing similar to the events that took place with Mad King Aerys.  This also suggests to me that the city is once again under attack.  I then see Jaime reanimating as a wight, making him the valonqar, and wrapping his hands around Cersei’s throat and choking the life from her.  Sansa will witness all this and be helpless when the Hound enters the throne room and the two will come together again.  I don’t know if it will be the same cloak that he left behind or another one but I believe that Sansa will ask him to take an oath to defend the city and he will accept, making him the knight she always knew he could be.  It is then that he will seek out his brother where they will fight to the death.  It is during this fight where the Mountain will meet his demise at the hands of his brother.  How fitting it will be when the Hound in the end burns him with wildfire.

In this scenario Sansa is Egwene, the white rod is the Hound in his white cloak and his actions of stopping the city from being burned by wildfire is the counter weave to balefire.

During the attack on the White Tower Elaida was rendered unconscious and taken by the Seanchan from the Tower tied to the back of a to'raken.  When she came to she discovered that she had an a’dam placed around her neck.  The a’dam is a flexible collar.  Once the collar is in place it stops a woman from being able to channel the One Power without the express permission of the woman who controls the bracelet and leash.  This in essence is another form of stilling as the leashed person never has control of when she can use the One Power.

To'raken in flight
To'raken with rider
A'dam around the neck of someone who can channel
This to me is why Cersei dies the way she does by the hands of the valonqar.  The hands of the valonqar is the a’dam.

While taking her test for accepted there was a resonance caused by the dream ring ter'angreal that caused oddities. During each of the three tests the resonance becomes more pronounced and the visions more prophetic. During the final test she experiences the following:

“Something is wrong, she thought. The wrongness had nothing to do with her sudden dizziness, or at least that was not what felt wrong. It was something else. But she had no idea what.

There was an Aes Sedai at her elbow, a woman with Sheriam's high cheekbones but dark hair and concerned brown eyes, and the handwide stole of the Keeper on her shoulders. Not Sheriam, though. Egwene had never seen her before; she was sure she knew her as well as she knew herself. Haltingly, she put a name to the woman. Beldeine.

Sheriam
“Are you ill, Mother?”

Her stole is green. That means she was raised from the Green Ajah. The Keeper always comes from the same Ajah as the Amyrlin she serves.
Which means if I'm the Amyrlin — if? — then I was Green Ajah, too. That thought shook her. Not that she had been Green Ajah, but that she had to reason it out. Light, something is wrong with me.”

Egwene sees herself as the Amrylin seat which comes to fruition.

Egwene after Elaida is taken is chosen as the Amyrlin Seat to all Aes Sedai in the now healed White Tower.  I believe that after Cersei is killed Sansa will be made the new queen and completes the prophecy “Aye.  Queen you shall be…until there comes another younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.”

Summary:

Both Egwene and Sansa experienced beatings and torment at the hands of their captors.  Both were put in their position because of prophecies that undermined the women who tried to force them to be in one case and avoid them in the other.  Because of the prophecies one woman caused the metaphorical death of three women who called her “Mother” the actions of the other brought about the actual death of her children.  Egwene was punished at the hands of a sister who called Elaida mother.  Sansa was punished at the hands of Cersei's son Joffrey.  Elaida is killed metaphorically when an a’dam is placed around her neck and Cersei is killed when the valonqar wraps his hands around her neck and chokes the life from her.  Nobody believed that Egwene was a Dreamer.  Is this why Sansa was such a daydreamer?  She dreamt of being a regal Queen like Cersei Lannister, and that just like in the epic songs she will meet her knight in shining armor.  Ironically the Hound who never wanted to be a knight turned out to be one in the end.
