I'm a rocket man

Beam me up, Scotty

Did anyone else get a spaceman vibe when they saw the cave drawings?  I mean the one picture with the expanded view of a section of the universe containing perhaps multiple galaxies.  Are we seeing the drawings that were described to the natives (i.e. Children of the Forest) of the world the travelers came from?  From the pictures in the caves it appears that the “First Men” were the astronauts.  They appear to be wearing space suits and at their feet appear to be a spiral galaxy on the left and a spiral galaxy with a representation of a black hole at its center.  The COTF seemed to have built a religion around these symbols not knowing what they were.  They in turn passed this onto the White Walkers when they were created.  What cataclysm caused them to flee their world?  Could it have been a rescue mission to save the natives of this world or was it a rescue pod intending to give them a chance at a new life?  This could explain things like glass candles if this is the case.  Technology that probably remains buried at the Citadel waiting for Sam to uncover.  Did something happen to the first men, say disease and their numbers fell to a level that survival was their only concern?  Through the millennia the knowledge of where they came from was lost and the COTF created a new one, putting a favorable spin on their race.  What else have they lied about?

Spiral Galaxy

Can you see the man/astronaut who appears to be seated?
Is this the COTF's interpretation of him flying through space?

Did you notice the circle on the spiral arm?
It is roughly placed in the location of our Solar system in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Are we the First Men?  See the 3 pictures that follow:

A spiral galaxy on the left at the feet of the First Men
A spiral galaxy with a black hole at its center on the right

A black hole at the center of a galaxy

Comments encouraged.  Love to hear the ideas of others.  Most believe that since I present my idea’s as “fact like” I’m not open to change my viewpoints which is far from the truth.  I simply look at the information presented and go from there.  If you can shine a light on another way of thinking that opens the door to debate.

  1. I was thinking they were going to go with the "Mirror World" concept; an alternate reality/timeline that has been woven by the Wheel. These alternate worlds represent "Ifs". What if ASOIAF is going with the concept that the "First Men" simply came from "Another World"; being world similar to theirs capable of supporting life.

  4. In TWOT there is a passage that mentioned travel to other star; even worlds in the sky. Is this the reason why ASOIAF and TWOT are so similar? Did travel between these two worlds occur?

“Do you wonder how I know all this? The collar and bracelets were made after I was . . . . Well, we will not talk of that. Once I was free, the first thing I did was seek information about those last days. Last years, really. There are a good many fragments here and there that make no sense to anyone who does not have some idea to begin with. The Age of Legends. Such a quaint name you have given my time. Yet even your wildest tales no more than hint at the half. I had lived over two hundred years when the Bore was opened, and I was still young, for an Aes Sedai. Your ‘legends’ are but pale imitations of what we could do. Why . . . .”

Nynaeve stopped listening. A way to distract the woman. Even if she could think of something to say, Moghedien would be on her guard against the method she herself was using. She could not spare effort for as much as a thread-thin weave, any more than . . . any more than Moghedien could. A woman from the Age of Legends, a woman long used to wielding the One Power. Perhaps used to doing almost everything with the Power before she was imprisoned. In hiding since being freed, how used to doing things without the Power had she become?

Nynaeve let her legs sag. Dropping the feather duster, she caught hold of the pedestal to support herself. There was very little fakery needed.

Moghedien smiled and took a step nearer. “ . . . travel to other worlds, even worlds in the sky. Do you know that the stars are . . . .” So sure, that smile. So triumphant.
