A chink in the proverbial armor

Potential Spoilers Below

I have a theory that says that ASOIAF will end in a similar fashion as The Wheel of Time (TWOT) but with 180-degree twists thrown in to make it unique.  So far, my theory has held; so I want to present to you an idea that could represent a chink the White Walker proverbial armor.  First to get more back story into how Bran and the Night King are linked in the TV show you will have to read the following theory if you haven’t already: What it means that Bran was touched by the Night King

White Walkers
Besides dragonglass do they have another weakness?

The connection
Now let me tell you that I believe that the White Walkers and Wights are represented by the Myrddraal and Trollocs respectively in TWOT.  The 180-degree twist is that in TWOT the parent/child relationship is reversed.  In TWOT the Myrddraal are the children of the Trollocs but they are the ones that are intelligent like the White Walkers.  The Trollocs are more bestial.  Their creator Aginor, a Forsaken, used both humans and animals in the creation of Trollocs.  They were prolific breeders and their numbers swelled.  Myrddraal were simply throwbacks who were born to Trollocs favoring their human side.  In time, it was found that Myrddraal could link with a number of Trollocs overriding their bestial nature taking control of their minds and wills to create a deadly, well-disciplined fighting force.  Together Myrddraal and Trollocs made a fearsome foe.  The only thing that a Myrddraal fears is running water.

Wights

Myrddraal leading Trollocs

The Forsaken
White Walkers and Wights share a metaphorical parent/child relationship.  White Walkers create the Wights by raising them from the dead.  We also know that White Walkers were created from human stock.  One thing that I also believe is that they were not only human but also wargs.  White Walkers to me exists in a state between being alive and dead and therefore are the opposite of wargs in that they can now only warg dead creatures.  Unlike the Trollocs they are not prolific breeders and take time to build their numbers.  The way they do create offspring has not been truly explained.  They use the dead to create their armies and together they also make fearsome foes.  Remember when Jon Snow first encountered the Night King at Hardhome and Jon and crew were not really that far out past the docks?  Why not just send the Wights out to overturn the boat?  I believe it was a homage to the Myrddraal fear of running water was the only reason they made it safely away to tell their tale.

How a White Walker is made in the beginning

Why not just go after them?

(TWOT) It is known:

Myrddraal are incredibly difficult to kill due to their viperish speed and immense strength.  Normal wounds, such as a blade or arrow to the heart, will not kill a Myrddraal, though it will be slowed by such wounds. It takes dozens of arrows or bolts to kill a Myrddraal, though the easiest way to kill one is to remove its head. The best way (according to some) to fight a Myrddraal is to overwhelm it before it can overwhelm you.

Even after dealing a killing blow to a Myrddraal it will not die immediately. While they are in their death throes, they are still extremely dangerous, as their headless/damaged body will continue to thrash blindly, often still holding their sword or rending with their fingernails. A Myrddraal only finishes dying at the setting of the sun. Any trollocs linked to the Myrddraall, however, die the instant it is dealt a fatal blow.

Killing a Myrddraal earns one the title of Dreadbane in the Borderlands, whether someone was simply the one to deal the killing blow after it had taken many other wounds or if one met it in single combat.

(ASOIAF) Is it known?

If you have read my theory as to why I believe the Night King and Bran are linked you will have a better understanding to what I present here.  We have seen that Bran sent warged ravens to spy on the Night King and his army of the dead.  When the ravens got within a certain distance it seems to me that the Night King disrupted Bran’s control of the ravens?  How is that possible?  The first time when Bran was touched can be explained by the fact that it caught him off guard.  This time however he was just doing a reconnaissance mission to gain intel and the birds were not in range of the Night King to touch so how did he break the connection?  Bran’s connection to the Night King to me is eerily similar to the connection between Rand and Moridin.

Night King breaks Bran's warg

I believe that the connection goes both ways and if I am right then Bran can also break the Night King’s connection to the Wights that he controls.  In a battle where you are fighting the dead in such overwhelming numbers that would be a huge strategic advantage.  I am guessing right now as we haven’t seen evidence to support this but other White Walkers may also be able to control Wights too.  If not, then the advantage is even more important because they essentially have all their eggs in one basket.  But let’s assume that other White Walkers can also control Wights.  We know that Jon Snow has loaded up on dragonglass and they have a better idea of how to fight the enemy.  When the White Walkers discover that dragonglass is in play they may hang back further to avoid being taken out.  Lastly will we see a group of Wights who are being controlled by a White Walker who gets killed also die; like the Trollocs do in TWOT?

Dragonglass
I would say it is known that Sam “The Slayer” along with others have earned their Dreadbane equivalent titles!

Sam kills White Walker
Comments encouraged.  Love to hear the ideas of others.  Most believe that since I present my idea’s as “fact like” I’m not open to change my viewpoints which is far from the truth.  I simply look at the information presented and go from there.  If you can shine a light on another way of thinking that opens the door to debate.

  1. Just like I said the Wights that are connected to the White Walker that created them all die when he is killed:

Read the Wheel of Time and you will see how ASOIAF will end. All the haters on Reddit are as quiet as a church mouse now. The were telling me I was crazy for even suggesting anything so absurd but once it happens just like I said it was nothing.

  2. His analyzes were impressive. I'm reading the wheel of time, and I feel like I could predict what will happen in game of thrones as well. Indeed all works are influenced by others.
