Did Ser Arthur Dayne know he was going to die?

I say he did because he uttered the same words that Mance Rayder did.  "I wish you good fortune in the wars to come."  I believe that he knew because of what his best friend Rhaegar Targaryen told him.  I believe that the scroll that Rhaegar read from IMO "Signs and Portents" told them of this day and what it would mean for the future.

Comments encouraged.  Love to hear the idea’s of others.  Most believe that since I present my idea’s as “fact like” I’m not open to change my viewpoints which are far from the truth.  I simply look at the information presented and go from there.  If you can shine a light on another way of thinking that opens the door to debate.

  1. I believe that when Ser Arthur Dayne says "And now it begins" he is referring to the prophecy that Rhaegar, his best friend, told him about concerning this day and what it would mean. He knew the outcome before it began.
