No Strings Attached?

The Game of Thrones:  Whose pulling the strings?

“I have seen you in the nightfires, Victarion Greyjoy. You come striding through the flames stern and fierce, your great axe dripping blood, blind to the tentacles that grasp you at wrist and neck and ankle, the black strings that make you dance.”

The Wheel of Time:  The Dark One was pulling the strings?

Summary:

IMO the two stories are too similar to be a coincidence.  We know it was the Dark One who was pulling the invisible strings that were tied to the Forsaken in TWOT but who may it be in ASOIAF?  Rand was able to see the strings in TWOT and we know that Moqorro can see the strings attached to Victarion.  Right now I believe the clues point to Euron Greyjoy or Littlefinger.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.
